After 5 days of packing/cleaning/partying/tying up loose ends in Iowa, my plane finally leaves today. With all the activity and the holidaze I really haven't had much of an opportunity to even think about my trip... but here goes nothing...
For those of you who are just getting clued in, I am headed to South America today for a two-month adventure tour. I am flying from Des Moines to Lima (on one of the 3 daily non-stop flights they have from here to Lima... haha). The trip will take me to Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil (ending during Carnival). I will return to DSM at the end of February. I hope to blog most of the trip and upload some sweet pictures if possible...

I have about 4 hours before I have to get to the airport and 1 million things to do... so I should wrap this up for now. I do want to thank all of my awesome co-workers, family and friends for their help and support during this transition time, especially those who helped me pack my apt., carry crap to the dumpster, or just got me drunk while I was supposed to be doing those things... you guys rule!
When I arrive in Peru tomorrow, it will be summer! Adios Iowa winter!
